“August rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time.” Sylvia Plath

This painting is available.

This is exactly what we had this week… can’t remember but think it was Wednesday. The morning was cool at 74 degrees and the day hit about 94. Only in Texas. The days before were a record of 105-112 and the days following are 105-108. Looks like another week or 10 days of the heat. I can still pray for rain.

In the summer, rain in Texas is a gift, a bounty, a joy and a reason to celebrate. Terry is watering by hand because of drought restrictions and we are struggling to keep the grass half green and the trees with a few leaves on them. This happens in life itself… where there seems to be ‘drought’ in finances, in income, or even in your disposition. We have to stay focused on the Lord and know he has the direction we need to head. Our thoughts will never match up with his. But as sure as the sun will rise in the morning… God will provide exactly what you need. Stop fussing and worrying. Let it go and let him work.

“The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” Deuteronomy 28:12
