“When you're in jail, a good friend will be trying to bail you out. A best friend will be in the cell next to you saying, 'Damn, that was fun'.” Groucho Marx
I absolutely love it when my husband goes down a mysterious road. We did that a few times in Maryland and Virginia when we were traveling back from New York to Texas. One road followed a fairly wide stream of bubbling water racing over small boulders and rocks. On the landscape around us were small homes with clothes out hanging to dry, and even a quilt here and there. He has never gone “rogue” as he knows I would freak out with anything that might stir up commotion and end up in police custody.
God gives us free will in our lives. Might be wise to allow him to lead most of the time. You might be able to avoid confrontations you do not need to have. I have spent my life a ‘pleaser’. I have this hang up about not disappointing those I love in my life. As I look back now, I am seeing that I have missed out on some things because of it. I am ready to take a few more of those mysterious unnamed small roads in life to see where they might lead.
