Storms of the Heart . . .
"The heart of man is very much like the sea, it has its storms, it has its tides and in its depths it has its pearls too." Vincent van Gogh, The Letters of Vincent Van Gogh
Not a day passes in our lives that we are not rocked by storms of life. Some of those storms we stir up into being and others seem to roll into our lives. We feel like we can barely hang on. Most of us try to hold on and outlast the storm, forgetting there is someone we can call on to calm it and bring us peace again.
Look around. We can all find peace in reminders from God that He loves and cares for us. Yet sometimes the storms rage so fiercely we cannot look up. We must look up. It may be lonely moments of depression and fear. It could be exhaustion or illness. We could be overwhelmed by stress, illness or life threatening problems.
Mark 4:38 "Master, carest thou not that we perish?"
