“The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever” ― Nicholas Sparks

I hope on this Valentine's Day you are not just spending money on cards, candy and funny gifts...but are spending time with those that are special to you.

The history of Valentine’s Day–and the story of its patron saint–is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine’s Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. But who was Saint Valentine, and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Read more here.

Hallmark makes a killing on Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and all those other "DAYS" we feel pressured into celebrating. Flower Shops and Candy Shops are all profiting on this holiday that has grown to such proportions... I do not want to make light of it, but ask that you think about ALL those special people you love this day. Share time either in person or on the phone and don't just do it today... try and make it a habit and do it throughout the year. You never know what changes will occur in your life or their life.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 1 John 4:16
