“Once I spoke the language of the flowers, Once I understood each word the caterpillar said, Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,And shared a conversation with the housefly in my bed. Once I heard and answered all the questions of the crickets, And joined the crying of each falling dying flake of snow, Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
How did it go?  How did it go?” ― Shel Silverstein, Where the Sidewalk Ends: The Poems and Drawings of Shel Silverstein

Shei Silverstein's book was a big hit with my children growing up.  We spent many hours in the book throughout the younger days in their lives. Sometimes I look back and wonder where time has gone... it is flying by.   The reality of time is that it passes rather quickly the older you become.

When you feel like you are running out of time, you might try taking a reality check and trying a simple observation:  There is the same amount of minutes and hours in each day.  How are you using your time today that was so different from yesterday.   It is not necessary to feel out of control, but I think social media has captured so much of our time we are forgetting to live and enjoy the days God has gifted to us.

Try centering yourself and relaxing. FORGET about Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and your cell phone. (yes I realized 70 percent of my followers read this on their cell phone) Try and cut back on social media and you will gain back huge amounts of time.  Social Media is a distraction to your life and to your relationships.

"Be the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; there is need of only one thing." Luke 10:41-42
