Biscuits and Cake . . .
“No one is willing to believe that adults too, like children, wander about this earth in a daze and, like children, do not know where they come from or where they are going, act as rarely as they do according to genuine motives, and are as thoroughly governed as they are by biscuits and cake and the rod.” ― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, The Sorrows of Young Werther
Everyone... me included, has those dazed and confused moments. It actually gets worse the older you get. They call it the "Florida Moments". The best part is when you have the 'AHA" moment that brings to mind what you lost in Florida. New understanding comes from our faith in God to lead us to where we are to be. We have to have an open mind and heart to come to a new understanding of where we are.
A child learns to read one letter at a time, placing them together to make sounds. In the same way we grow in our spiritual nature one moment at a time. A small glimpse of divine wisdom creates an immediate opportunity to grow in our faith. Every 'aha' moment deepens the process.
"The meditation of my heart shall be understanding" Psalm 49:3
