No you are NOT over the hill... Yet.  .  Remember When  .  Life seemed easier . Laurie Pace

Why is it life always seemed easier when you look back at memories of yesterday?

When my daughter was born (the second of my three) I was in love with her, in love with life and in love with the world. She made it all complete.

I feel strongly every woman needs a daughter.  She was my total joy. I loved all of my babies when they came, but a daughter is so different. Must be that inner conversation in your head that you know what you want for her as a woman and you pray you can prepare her to make wise choices.

Today Is Stacey's birthday. She was born at 5:05 am. She still likes to get up early. She has that same engaging smile and twinkle in her eye and still the boss as always. She stands just a minute over five feet (yes I am five ft nine...) but she kept her two brothers in line all the time. She has turned out and bloomed into a remarkable woman. My memories this day take me back to the simplicity of life in Nacogdoches Texas.  Worries were few and pretty basic. Life was simple and it was my family that was important.   She was the rose between the two thorns... the love of my life, my daughter.

The memories of childhood play are so sweet and deep. Then came the memories of her blooming into a woman and I love thinking about her first dinner party in Ft Thomas KY. She cooked the entire meal and served her friends before the homecoming dance. High school, college, sorority... she did it all. She worked, paid her way and grew into an intelligent caring woman.

When she married ten years ago, we talked about children. She and Larry really did not worry about planning them, they knew God would handle the decision for them. When they lost their son, it was two years later Stacey found out she was pregnant with Lady L. She was to have her own daughter...and now six years later, a second daughter. I feel blessed. She probably feels a bit overwhelmed today with this new bundle of joy in her life. The year will go by swiftly.

We have found the older we get, the faster time flies.

Daughters are a joy. Happy Birthday to my Joy... Stacey.
