TIMES THEY ARE A CHANGIN...I was digging through old files from 2005-2006 and this was one that really made me smile. I did maybe six or eight pop pieces of art that year. A hair dresser fell in love with this piece and as far as I know it is still happily living in the midst of hairspray and laughing clients in upper state New York.
"Times they are a Changin." A blast from the past, but oh so current. After all these years (Terry and I met when I was 11... that was 50 years ago), Terry knows I do not have a big funny bone in my body...but I do love to take songs and redo lyrics. Singing is like breathing to me. There is constant song in my head and give me a word and suddenly I will be singing. So part of this Joyful Year is to bring back my music to my life with my singing, my guitar and my piano.
I seriously want to sing and play more .This is a video I made in the Spring of 2012 after the death of my father. It was recorded for my mom on Mother's Day.
She loves this song and we have performed it several times together. I was always the harmony to her beautiful voice and I played the guitar. It was not a song I knew in the sixties but it was one that my Mom learned and love for performing at ST Paul's United Church of Christ. It is Marsh Steven's-Pino's "For Those Tears I Died". aka "Come to the Water" 1971.
We all have to move forward through changes in our lives. My mantra is usually "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want." If I say it once a day I say it 100 times a day. God will make sure I have everything I need. Change is inevitable. It is transiting from one state to another. I am challenging you to join me in JOY this year and make a shift in your life to always chose Joy as you move forward.
