Short blog this morning.  This is called "Looking Back", a rich heavily layered oil painting of a wild horse. Definitely has a determined look!

Sometimes looking back in life brings back beautiful memories, laughter and joy and brings some happy peace to our lives. Other times looking back stirs up negative things or times of conflict...those are things that bring us down. We do not have to allow this to happen. We have the choice. While we must live in this moment of this day... we can draw back from happy times to remember those we love that may not be with us over the holidays... or we can recall specific memories of a trip or gathering of family over Christmas.

One of my favorites was going to Breckinridge in 1990 with my parents and my younger brother... when I say going... that meant me and the kids... they had never skied in their lives. We flew from Ft Thomas KY to Colorado. It was a packed flight.  Morgan was about 8, Stacey was 13, and Justin was 15. That is a Christmas memory that lives on with all of us.  I could not find any skiing photos because we did not have phones back then, but either my mom or brother snapped this of my father and me.  Christmas at the Condo 1990.  Miss you Daddy.

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.   Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2:4-5
