“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” Rabindranath Tagore
C. S. Lewis used the term, Surprised by Joy. Often in our lives, we believe we know what we need and we focus on it, pray about it and hopefully wait on the Lord. The thing is, God has other plans and other ideas and He is constantly putting new things in our path, hoping we will embrace them and trust him. There are times he has to really ‘knock’ me up side the head before I literally see what is in front of me.
Right now in the studio I am playing with mixed media and learning many things as I do this. Most definitely it is using things I would NEVER have brought into the studio and my patience has to be curtailed and the atmosphere of love endures is put into place. I have found a surprising relief brought in by sheer wonderment as I am working.
May you be surprised by Joy this day.
