Like a magician . . .
“The best teachers impart knowledge through sleight of hand, like a magician.” Kate Betts
The photography lighting is not great but it works. Can you barely see those other two horses? I wiped them out. Not sure why and if I will put them back or not right now. I have done taping, painting over the tape, removing, adding more elements subtlety here and there. Not done, but still in process.
I would love to hear your input just on the process, not the finished piece as it is not finished. I feel like I am falling into the painting every day I work on it. The intimacy grows but with all new things, this first piece may not work, but the importance is what I learn from painting it.
So far I have jumped out there without a safety net and am sharing the worst to the current with you as I have worked. This is only a 24 x 30 inch canvas. Very small for me unless you count my tiny 8 x 10 that I pull out my knife and thick paint on.
The other difference is I am not going through 20 tubes of paint... yet I am mesmerized by the dream like state of colors crisscrossing and weaving through the painting. By the time this posts, I hope to hear from my Mentor as to direction because at this moment it is in a semi drying state before I work on it again this week.
