Trust is the Glue of Life . . .
“Trust is the glue of life. It's the most essential ingredient in effective communication. It's the foundational principle that holds all relationships.” ― Stephen R. Covey
Is there turmoil in your life? Do you feel like the years are tumbling by and you are wasting away as you grow older? Do you live with feelings of guilt and condemnation? Is there a void of peace in your life? Are you enjoying your life?
Most folks I know, including myself, have this weird 'trust' in their inner feelings or gut feelings. Hummm... not sure that is good.
John 15:5 "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
John is talking about God. Can you trust and believe in God that he loves you? Only he has the power to help you. Where do you put your trust right now? In man, friends, Facebook, the bank, ... who is there for you no matter what?
It is God.
God yearns for us to have a relationship with him. We must learn to trust him and put our hopes and our life in his hands. When you trust man, you get hurt. It is not how much you can do and stand alone, but how much you can give up control and let God lead the way.
My confirmation verse (and my youngest son's confirmation verse) is Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (NKJV) You can skip going through trusting others. If you don not give up on man, you will continue to be disappointed.
Lent is counting down quickly. Concentrate on the trust in God... His own son gave up his life for you and for me and for our sins. Your life will be simple and peaceful when you can pray to him that you are ready to give up control of your life. Tell Him you are ready to put that trust in Him and not in man. Know when you are lost, he will find you. When you are at odds and cannot figure something out, start praying... he will provide the answer. Follow His lead, serve others and trust Him to bring His blessings into your life.
Psalm 25:1 "In you, LORD my God, I put my trust."
