It Begins with a Smile . . .
“Peace begins with a smile..” ― Mother Teresa
This is the beginning of another painting for The Fringe Gallery in Salt Lake City. The name is already there for me as I begin because I am using an older painting as an inspiration. Rest assured, one of my own older paintings from about five years ago. It always call back to me to revisit the composition, but the original was very organic from left over paints on my palette. Here I will be using the space but filling it purposefully with the patterns I seek as I work.
I am excited about the gallery and hoping to get up there if the weather permits. Terry will want to drive and we would have to cross the snowy Rockies somewhere. Not my favorite. The plane seems way faster!
The simple smile. Is it really simple? I went to seek out the number of muscles it takes to smile and found conflicting information. Some said it takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile... but other places used 62 for frowning and 26 for smiling. It all boils down to the facial nerve, your response to stimuli that creates that smile, and everything is affected by the immediate environment around you, as well as your frame of mind and well being.
The best part are the benefits of smiling. Read more about it here... THE SMILE.
