Close to the End of the Journey
“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end.” ― Ursula K. Le Guin, The Left Hand of Darkness
I have dug this progress painting out of my 2012 work... again for a collector in Australia. This is near the end but not the finished painting. I had to bring up the intensity of the background to match the strength of the horse. Remember this is a large painting... 42 inches tall... about 28 wide. Nearing the end of this journey the last paint strokes are the most important. ... Sort of the salt and pepper to bring out the flavor.
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure." 1 John 3:1-3
