Sleep is an act of Surrender...
"We live between the act of awakening and the act of surrender. Each morning, we awaken to the light and the invitation to a new day in the world of time; each night, we surrender to the dark to be taken to play in the world of dreams where time is no more." John O'Donohue
When you think about sleeping... is it the end of the day when you go to bed... OR is going to bed the start of a new day? Seems like a good night sleep is what jump starts your good day, so maybe we should think about that when we turn in tonight. When you go to bed it actually is the beginning of tomorrow and for most of us, most of those sleeping hours are after midnight, which is basically tomorrow.
When I painted this small collectible, I was thinking about this concept. Where does one stop and the other begin? Even your dreams affect your new day.
"The light of the eyes rejoices the heart, and good news refreshes the body." Proverbs 15:30
