Old Red

24 x 24  Oil on Canvas

Try try again.  Remember that book we had when we were very young about the little train trying to chug up the big hill?  I think I can - I think I can - I think I can.  I read it to my children and I think it is time for Lady L to have her own copy of it.

From early in life we seek approval and at the same time we learn about defeat and disappointing the very ones we need to have approval and love from.  This book truly made the difference in the lives of many children as they took off to pre K or Kindergarten and left the safety of Mommy and home.

This horse painting was started with oils, washed in the backyard off the canvas, resurfaced with acrylic and then painted in oil.  I think I can... I think I can....

The book was called "The Little Engine That Could".

What are you facing today that require you to pull out from the deepest part of you the strength you need to overcome the fear that holds you back from doing something?  As an artist I know all about the trials of defeat and worrying about acceptance and people liking my work.  It was not until I realized that it was my journey on that canvas, no one else's journey.

Today is your journey... I think you can, I think you can, I KNOW YOU CAN.
