Midnight Gathering, Horse Painting by Laurie Pace
36 x 36 Oil on Canvas
This is powerful.. more so in person than on this screen I am sure. Just looking back over the days and seeing the changes and the unique force that settles in this painting, makes me thankful for the guidance of my inner soul. With the completion of the painting comes a peace and the realization of being finished.
Isn't that the best part of your day when you get done with something and can put it behind you? Painting ultimately has a similar completion feeling. Artists tend to hang things up though and jump in for moderate changes and touch up. Is life like this? Do we spend time trying to fix things up and push toward being 'done'? I believe it to be human nature.
"Discipline yourselves; keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, steadfast in your faith, for you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are undergoing the same kinds of suffering." 1 Peter 5:8-9
